NYC's First Soccer Stadium

So if you were to buy a sports franchise solely on a longterm investment play which would it be? What's interesting is how unpopular soccer is in the USA compared to the rest of the world. Can you imagine once it catches momentum? Anyway back to juicy news -- The group of developers and the New York City Football Club are close to reaching a deal with the city to bring a 25,000-seat stadium to the South Bronx as part of a $1 billion development plan that also includes a hotel, new school, and affordable housing. Rumor has it they are inching closer and closer to a deal. New York City F.C., which has been looking for a permanent home for years, currently plays games at nearby Yankee Stadium. There has been a parking issue that was recently resolved by the Yankees selling a few spaces (6 parking lots) for $54M. The stadium, if approved, would replace parking lots on East 153rd Street and stretch from River Avenue to the Major Deegan Expressway.
